Naomh Éanna's footballers won the Wexford Junior Championship in 1994, went up and won the Intermediate Championship in 1995, then took a second intermediate title in 2023.
Hurling gets most of the headlines in Gorey, but Naomh Éanna have been a genuine two-code club since 1970, and the football roll of honour tells its own story.
The footballers won the Wexford Junior Football Championship in 1994 and followed it immediately with the Wexford Intermediate Football Championship in 1995 — back-to-back county titles and a climb through two grades in two seasons.
It took until 2023 for a second Intermediate Football Championship to arrive, in the same year the senior hurlers won their second county title. For the club, 2023 was the most successful season in its history across both codes.
Sustaining football and hurling in one club, in a town the size of Gorey, means sharing players, coaches and pitch time — and the 2023 double is the strongest evidence yet that the club can do both at once.
